One of our several vices, regardless of where we are, is to find local McDonald’s to get a fix of $1 large, fresh brewed, unsweetened ice tea. From time to time we might also pick up a $0.79 McCafe Sr. Coffee or an egg white delight but mostly, its the tea. We were thrilled to learn that the Redington Beach McDonald’s has its own Dinghy Dock where you can dinghy right up to the McDs! Not only that, but there is a Publix grocery store located right next door…bonus! So after a nice anchor night out (although we dragged anchor in stiff winds for the first time, more on that another time) we dinghyed to the dock to indulge. Then, off to Publix to provision for the week..almost feels like we are in the real world again.

Most of our Thanksgiving week was spent in St Petersburg Beach, the exact beach where we took many family vacations when our kids were younger. It was truly outstanding to travel here from the water perspective. A huge thank you to the AGLCA harbor host in the area for allowing us to stay on their private dock right behind their house in a beautiful neighborhood. We could not have asked for any better accommodations and feel indebted to the Rowes for their hospitality.

This was a perfect location as it was right down the street from where Pam’s high school friend, Jenifer & Danny were staying. (Pam was thankful for the guest laundry room at their resort!) We were also able to meet up with Pam’s friend Krista who teaches with her and meet our sister-in-law’s mom at John’s Pass
We were very thankful for having the chance to catch up and reconnect with friends and family during this Thanksgiving week.
The week finished out on picturesque Anna Marie Island. We were able to hang out with Pam’s cousins for a night, enjoying the great weather on this laid back and relaxing spot. We peddled well over 50 miles throughout the week exploring St Petersburg, Bradenton Beach, Manatee Beach, Holmes Beach, & Anna Marie Island ~ all beautiful beaches in the area.
